Shannon Chain began her training at the age of fourteen under Merriam Lanova. She joined American Ballet Theatre four years later and went on to dance with the Zurich Ballet, the Alabama Ballet, Stars of American Ballet, and Wes Chapman's American Ballet. Retiring from dance to pursue her dream of becoming a physician, she remains actively involved in the dance community as a dancer, teacher, and coach. Ms. Chain has taught extensively throughout the Bay area since 2000, working with many schools, including Marin Dance Theatre, Marin Ballet, Stanford's Cardinal Ballet, City Ballet School, San Francisco Dance Center and Los Gatos Ballet. Ms. Chain will begin medical school in the fall of 2006.
