Cynthia Alverson
Cynthia was an avid kiteboarder and sports enthusiast until she developed a scoliosis in her low back which seriously slowed her down. After seven months of chiropractic work, her back improved, but she continued to suffer from associated aches and pains. And then she discovered Pilates. Pilates helped alleviate the discomfort she was experiencing and helped keep her get into shape, when all other forms of exercise were hurting her.
Cynthia was inspired by the gains she made from Pilates, and decided to become an instructor. Cynthia studied the BASI Pilates method at The Center Studio with Larry Hall in San Francisco. Cynthia holds high regard for the BASI method, finding it to be very methodical with great attention paid to proper body alignment and good muscle mechanics. It is through this attention to detail, that one benefits the most from Pilates. Cynthia enjoys sharing her knowledge and is excited to help others discover the many benefits of Pilates.
